Rosa Maria Canao

International Sales Executive
Terra Group

Real estate has been a passion of Rosa Maria Canao’s since childhood, when her father, a contractor in Venezuela, took her to job sites.

Canao, an international sales executive with the Terra Group, held her first job in the U.S. as a marketing sales manager for Hilton. “After my boss introduced me to the world of real estate, I fell in love with the business,” she says. “It allows me to help individuals accomplish one of the most profound aspects of their security: buying a home.”

Canao represents the Terra Group at the Botaniko Weston development, a top-tier project in the modern luxury single-family architectural niche, promoting the relocation of many locals to the Weston area and working with foreign nationals investing in Florida and U.S. Northeasterners viewing Florida as a retirement opportunity. She also works on all of the Terra Group’s projects.

With over a decade of experience and through her exposure to Botaniko, Canao has learned about the financial potential of the business, becoming an investor in several properties throughout the state. A firm believer that “every door closed is an open window of opportunity,” she was instrumental in selling about $40 million in real estate last year and, as a result, earned many industry awards.

Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist and Certified International Property Specialist are among her many designations. Multilingual, Canao is a perfect match for corporate and individual clients. She was honored to be the founder and first acting president of the Fort Lauderdale chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, expanding the chapter’s membership from zero to 300 in a single year. Privileged to advocate before Congress for Hispanic homeownership, Canao is a top pre-construction executive in South Florida and Latin America and maintains contacts in Europe and Asia, developed during her extensive travels.

In these trying times, Canao believes that the U.S. presents ample opportunities for the Hispanic community to accrue wealth through real estate.
