Malenys Hernandez

Real Estate Professional
Douglas Elliman Real Estate

Malenys Hernandez earned her real estate license after college and never looked back. The one goal she has each year is growth. “Miami is a global city. I don’t wait for buyers to come to me, I go out and find them,” says Hernandez, an agent with Douglas Elliman Real Estate. “This past year, I was able to further branch out and expand my client base by traveling outside of the U.S. more so than I have in previous years.”

Her clients range from first-time homebuyers to seasoned investors, many of whom are from South America and Europe. “They take me all over Miami, from Miami Springs to Miami Beach, Brickell and Edgewater,” she says.

Most of her business is referral-based. “I consider a transaction successful when I provide my clients with an innovative sales approach, strong negotiation skills and positive attitude,” she says.

Her ability to create lifelong friendships with clients has been instrumental to her success. It also helps that she puts marketing at the forefront. “Each property is unique and may demand different approaches to marketing, including tailored buyer presentations and specific networking events.”

Hernandez says her Certified International Property Specialist designation keeps her up to date on global trends and allows her to network and gain referrals from international real estate professionals. Recently, she founded Miami Women Empowered, an organization that promotes the networking, education, and overall emotional and financial welfare of its members. She also values her affiliation with the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals and the Women’s Council of Realtors.

In her free time, Hernandez enjoys reading, gardening and spending time outdoors with her family. “My biggest accomplishment year after year will always be my kids,” she says. “I push myself harder every day so that I may be the best version of myself for them.”
