Nelson-Roberto Duque

Vice President of Business Development and Acquisitions
Fortune International Realty

Most might consider the phrase “R&R” an abbreviation for “rest and relaxation,” but to Nelson-Roberto Duque it means “relationships and reputation.”  This is because this Fortune International Realty professional oversees each transaction with the kind of candor and empathy that he would appreciate if he were purchasing a property for himself.  Establishing relationships rooted in integrity and honesty has been his hallmark since he entered the industry over 10 years ago.  It is also why his reputation as a trustworthy Realtor precedes him in Miami’s highly competitive market.

While he counts the CEO of one of the country’s largest entertainment conglomerates, a Formula One racecar driver and an A-list songstress among those he has helped buy and sell Miami property, it is Duque’s commitment to their satisfaction that wins their confidence.  “My clients know that I will always put their best interest first,” he explains. This dedication earned him distinction as one of Brickell magazine’s “Top 20 Professionals under 40” in 2012 and selection by National Realtor magazine for its “Top 30 under 30 Realtors” in 2015.  He also cites his creative thinking and technological savvy in addition to his youthful energy as reasons why he enjoys tremendous success.

Duque oversees active sales of the Brickell City Center for Fortune, a $1.5 billion shopping and mixed-use project that, once complete, will span four blocks to the west of Brickell Avenue and to the south of the Miami River.  He also oversees sales of upscale developments such as Residences at Mondrian South Beach, City24, 26Edgewater, and Met1.  In addition, Duque is currently launching Fortune’s Development Rental Division, and led the acquisition of a several prime parcels on Biscayne Boulevard, Brickell Avenue and Key Biscayne for several high profile international investors.

Trained in the industry, as well as attended the Real Estate Management Program held at Harvard Business School, Duque appreciates that each day of his career brings new challenges and unveils emerging opportunities.  “Miami itself is its own selling point because of its weather, year-long sunshine, sandy beaches and multiculturalism,” he says, adding that these kinds of attractions draw an array of buyers.  And as someone who has sold well over 1,500 condominiums in the past decade, Duque knows better than anyone why people love this city so much.
