Miami developer the Related Group has welcomed Jon Paul “JP” Pérez as its president, the company announced.

Following more than a year of planning alongside Related’s leadership team, Pérez has already spearheaded numerous neighborhood projects and will continue to expand the firm’s four decades-long brand of success.

Since joining Related Group in 2012 as executive vice president, Pérez has held a number of leadership roles, including heading the expansion into Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood to develop a true live-work-play neighborhood.

“This position comes with a great sense of pride and responsibility, not only to my father, family and our exceptional team of associates, but also to the communities we serve,” said Pérez in a press release. “Each of Related’s developments, from affordable to luxury, are known for catalyzing growth and opportunity and I look forward to continuing this commitment, while expanding the boundaries of what a private developer can accomplish.”

Among Related’s projects that Pérez is overseeing include Solemar in Pompano Beach; the Ritz Carlton Tampa;, a marquee project for the city’s prime waterfront;  Boulevard at West River, a multi-towered project within the 120-acre West River redevelopment also in Tampa; SLS Tulum, a condo-hotel hybrid and the next phase of Related’s international expansion.

In its continued commitment to Miami, Related has also kicked off the first of three towers at 444 Brickell Ave.; and is behind some of the largest affordable housing developments in the country in the Brickell Avenue neighborhoods of Miami River and Liberty City.

“I speak for the entire executive committee when I say Jon Paul is well prepared to start this next chapter,” said Related Vice Chairman Adolfo Henriques in the press release. “Much like his father, he’s grown to become a driving force, with relentless determination to achieve his goals. But I’m most heartened to see him developing his own unique style, seamlessly channeling the firm’s historic strengths into innovative directions. We stand proudly behind our new leader.”
