Charitable Service Award: Mayi de la Vega, ONE Sotheby’s International Realty

by Kerrie Kennedy

Founder and CEO of luxury brokerage firm ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, Cuban-American real estate powerhouse Mayi de la Vega  founded the firm during the depths of a global economic recession in 2008. Under her leadership, the company has flourished to 20 offices and is recognized as one of the top 10 highest-producing Sotheby’s International Realty affiliates worldwide, with an annual sales volume of more than $3 billion.

Distinguished as an industry leader, de la Vega, along with her son Daniel de la Vega, the current president of ONE SIR, continues to expand across Florida’s East Coast.

De la Vega’s expertise has allowed her to harness the reputation of the historic Sotheby’s auction house, positioning ONE SIR’s listings for exposure among the elite clientele at global events from New York to Hong Kong to Moscow.

An avid art collector, de la Vega dedicates her time to traveling the globe as the company’s brand ambassador while marketing Florida’s East Coast as an international cultural mecca. She is a board member of Casa Cuba at Florida State University, part of the Toqueville Society of United Way and involved in the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation. She served on the foundation committee for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, The Board of Trustees for FSU, and as a “Guardian Angel” for Jackson Memorial Hospital. Most recently, de la Vega spearheaded the company’s Love as ONE campaign, bringing a positive outlook and inspiration in the face of adversity, tirelessly fundraising to support local families in need.
