Agent Snapshot: Tyrone (Ty) Henry, Real Estate Advisor, Strike Realty in Kendall

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate? Assistant director of programs at the University of Miami

Where did you grow up? Orlando, Florida

Growing up, what did you want to be? An airline pilot

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I take a long drive and ‘power think’ about all tasks I need to accomplish.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Kobe Bryant, because I feel like his approach to his craft of basketball, his obsession with competition/winning, and his never-ending drive to be the absolute best correlate directly with real estate. He is a great example of who I’d strive to be like in this industry.

Where is Miami’s best-kept secret? Hyde at American Airlines Arena may be the best kept secret in Miami to me. Hitting the nightclub right inside the arena after a Heat win is lit!

What do you love most about the industry? The limitless potential to succeed and become the absolute best — no one can stop you in this industry except you. You really can create your own future.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Maintaining the highest quality of organization in every aspect of real estate, and my everyday life. While it can be difficult, it is absolutely necessary and rewarding when done right.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? Cold call, cold call, cold call! Become comfortable with talking to strangers and understand that every lead has exponential potential.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately? Showtime’s Billions and Amazon’s Power. I’ve binged watched those shows at least five times each. Most recently though, Michael Jordan’s The Last Dance takes the cake for me.

What’s your favorite meal in Miami? Garlic King Crab Lo Mein from KOMODO Restaurant in Miami.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? I really love the architecture of Echo Brickell Residences. It just does something for me.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you? I played FCS collegiate football at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York.

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why? I’d have to say even though it’s not too far, the Dominican Republic is my favorite vacation spot. The water is beautiful, the vibe is amazing, and the parties are on another level.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Be real, be resilient, be resourceful, be relentless.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media? @MiamiYPN
