Agent Snapshot: Jamile J Brown, Realtor Associate, Julie’s Realty

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate? Before real estate, I was in corporate as a talent acquisition recruiter.

Where did you grow up? I was born in Mississippi and raised in Louisiana.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I love cigars, so a big stress reliever for me is enjoying a good cigar, a good book and my favorite cup of coffee or tea.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Hard to pick one: Michelle Obama, Cicely Tyson, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Oprah Winfrey and Zaha Hadid, just to name a few.

What do you love most about the industry? What I love the most is being an asset to individuals I meet daily. I love building relationships with people – you never know what those relationships can bring in the future.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? I feel that in this industry, it is my job to be a person of value and to find solutions to problems. I welcome all challenges – it makes me a better businesswoman.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? Do not be afraid to ask for the business – always represent your brand whereever you are. You never know who may need your services. Share your knowledge, provide value first, and most importantly follow up. Whatever you say you’re going to do, do it.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately? I binge-watch Million Dollar Listing (both New York and Los Angeles).

What’s your favorite meal in Miami? My favorite Miami meal is all of it, that is one of the reasons I enjoy living here. Miami culture is amazing and I’m able to try so many foods from different cultures.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? There’s a plethora of buildings I love:  Elysee Miami, One Thousand Museum, Aston Martin Residences, Paramount Miami Worldcenter, Porsche Design Tower and Brickell Flatiron, just to name a few.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job? I was doing an open house on a foreclosed property, and as I was doing a video on my social media, a very big rat jumped out in front of me.

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why? Bali, Thailand and Bora Bora – I’m big on meditating and being at peace, and these areas are serene.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Work hard, learn your craft, build relationships and be a person of value.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media? I like to follow all top producers in the real estate industry: Chastin J. Miles, Lee Mintz, Tamara Bradshaw, Chris Walsh and Mia Trudeau.
