by Timothy Inklebarger

Miami was ranked the 18th best city – out of 100 surveyed – for its green transportation initiatives according to a new analysis by the personal finance website WalletHub.

It also was recognized as having the fourth highest number of farmers markets per capita.

WalletHub analyzed 28 green indicators ranging from air quality to walkability to local jobs in environmental sustainability.

The city also ranked 19th in the study’s lifestyle and policy category, which considers topics such as the frequency of community garden plots and plastic-bag bans.

It placed 62nd overall in the environmental sustainability ranking, earning a total score of 47.75 out of 100. That’s compared to the top-ranking city of San Francisco, which had a total score of 72.48.
