Name: Juan (JC) Reyes-Farinas

Job Title: Real Estate Agent

Company: Ancona Real Estate

What was your first job in the realty industry? I started my real estate business in 2003 with Franklin Real Estate Consultants. I purchased my first of many investment properties that same year. My first listing also in 2003 was a single family home I sold representing the seller.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in South Florida.

Growing up, what did you want to be? Early in life my family enabled me to understand hard work and passion allow me to accomplish any set goal. I always knew I would own a business that allowed me to translate hard work and passion into results. Real estate was the profession I chose while attending college.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? When I’m stressed out I exercise or take a brief moment of time to meditate. This allows me to get right back to an effective and positive state of mind.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? My favorite place to hang out is anywhere near water. The Caribbean life begins and ends with water! My wife and I love to entertain, dine, and enjoy time with family and friends overlooking any waterfront view.

What do you love most about the industry? I love working in an industry that heavily impacts clients’ lives. I get to negotiate, create opportunity, and help capture a deal that defines clients dreams and aspirations for years sometimes decades to come.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I distinguish myself from other agents through an internationally strong database built on social media, advertisement, and local connections. This database was built from decades of social and business interactions.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The most difficult aspect of my job is evolving around an ever changing real estate market.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I am consistently interacting with people within my daily routine. Mornings begin at 5 a.m. with my gym workout. I return to my office and create touch points throughout the day via phone calls. To close the day I’m walking around my neighborhood. I feel the best way to meet new clients is still good old fashion face to face communication. The most effective way to followup with them is through social media.
