Carolyn Block Ellert buys out Sunshine Group colleague Laurie Ingber

by Zachary Wright

Carolyn Block Ellert, co-founder of Premier Sales Group, bought out her business partner Laurie Ingber of Sunshine Group to become the full owner of the brokerage.

Ellert declined to disclose terms of the buyout, but commented she was looking to continue to grow the Premier brand. On the Premier Sales Group website, a statement said after an 18-year partnership, the two parted amicably and with mutual agreement.

“Looking to pursue other interests after a successful 18-year partnership, in late 2018, Block-Ellert acquired control of Premier, sharpening its focus on successfully planning and executing sales driven strategies for its clients,” the website said.

Ingber responded in an email, stating she has since joined Mattamy Homes to lead sales in their new division in southeast Florida. Mattamy Homes is the largest privately owned home builder in North America and is based in Toronto. Their current portfolio includes more than 8,000 lots in five communities in Broward, Palm Beach and St. Lucie County.

After establishing Premier in 2000, the firm has closed more than $4 billion in sales, focusing on luxury condo, condo-hotel developments and condominium conversions.

According to Ellert, Premier will continue to focus on preconstruction sales, emphasizing technology and research. Ellert also said the team of six full-time agents will also increase, hoping to expand.
