This Week in Miami Real Estate: Soccer stadiums, bus shelters and more

Realtor Magazine recognized Roman Fischer, broker-owner of FPB Investment Properties in Palm Beach Gardens, as one of their 30 under 30 honorees of 2018. Fischer, 29, stands out with his unique skills. He is fluent in five languages and uses his knowledge to work with international buyers in Florida. “Everywhere I’ve lived and traveled, people talked about it as a top destination,” said Fischer. Besides his language skills, his background in business allows him to work with investors. “I analyze each property as an investment and provide my clients with detailed, financial models.”

  • David Beckham and his partners from MasTec, including Jorge Mas, released images of their proposed soccer stadium complex, according to the Miami Herald. Miami Freedom Park would be built on Melrose Country Club, just near the Miami International Airport. The image for the plan included the stadium, which would house a Major League Soccer franchise, an office building, hotels, retail and restaurant space, a park and soccer fields. The redevelopment is expected to cost nearly $1 billion by the time it’s completed. Beckham and Mas presented a proposal for Miami Freedom Park to the Miami City Commission on Thursday.
  • Members of MIAMI Realtors team and Doral city officials came together to unveil a new bus shelter on NW 107 Ave. and NW 14 St. by the Miami International Mall. As one of Miami’s busiest bus stops, Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez said he hopes this will encourage residents to take public transportation, as Miami’s Community Newspapers reported. “It also shows our commitment to fiscal responsibility by fortifying partnerships like this one with MIAMI Realtors to execute these types of projects that continue to improve our community’s quality of life,” said Bermudez.
  • Swire Properties announced plans to expand its commercial development in Brickell City Centre. The Miami Herald reported the Hong Kong-based company filed for an extension on existing special area plans for two condo towers. Similar to Swire Properties’ pervious developments in Brickell City Centre, Arquitectonica designed the plan. which features skybridges to connect the buildings. Swire Properties president of U.S. operations Kieran Bowers expects to have city approval by the end of the year and begin construction in early 2020.
