Real Estate in Brief: Luxury car brands open residential buildings, Coral Gables named best neighborhood and more

by Lauren Brocato

Luxury brands such as Porsche, Pininfarina and Aston Martin are venturing out of the car business into designing residential towers in Miami.

Porsche opened a 132-unit German tower on Sunny Isles Beach in 2017. Each apartment in the building is equipped with its own “sky garage,” where owners will ride up inside their cars.

Aston Martin also recently opened up its first residential building. The British company’s 66-story, 391-unit downtown condo tower provides a view of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

“We surveyed cities around the world for our first residential development, and this particular opportunity presented the right partner, the right timing, and the right location,” says Simon Sproule, Aston Martin’s chief marketing officer. “Miami holds global appeal, and the site has an enviable location.”
