Florida had the highest rate of pedestrian fatalities in 2016, and many of the areas that are most dangerous to pedestrians are in south Florida, according to a new report.

Kelley Uustal, A Fort Lauderdale law firm, partnered with a data visualization company to map which areas in Florida have had the highest concentration of car-versus-pedestrian accidents from 2014-2016. A total of 181 intersections in the state have seen 10 or more crashes in that time span.

Six of the top 10 most accident-prone areas are in Miami-Dade county, according to the report. Miami Beach and the city of Miami are ranked first and second, respectively, for most crashes and are the only two areas to see more than 100 crashes.

Two Miami Beach intersections make the top 5 in the report, while the city of Miami has three intersections in the top 10.

Florida recorded 3,531 crashes, with 1,276 minor and moderate injury crashes, 576 severe injury crash and 166 fatality crashes between 2014-2016, according to Kelley Uustal.

Check out the top 10 cities below. The “PDS” measures crash volume and weighs them by injury severity to determine an overall “pedestrian danger score.” To see the study, click here.
