What was your first job in the realty industry? I was a buyer’s agent for a very successful team

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Abington, Pa. and moved to South Florida when I was 11.

Growing up, what did you want to be? Police officer

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I like to exercise, go to the beach or go for a massage.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Oprah. I watched her show from when it started until it ended and I think she is extremely inspiring.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? The beach with family or good friends

What do you love most about the industry? That you have the opportunity to meet so many people and that the industry is constantly changing from the architecture and design trends to people’s wants and needs.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I think I distinguish myself from the crowd because of the unique knowledge I have acquired from being married to a real estate developer for 30 years. I also pride myself on staying informed of all the changes and redevelopment plans that will be coming to the area and staying abreast to the local market conditions.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Probably time management and just staying focused and remembering that no matter how busy you are, you always need to be prospecting for new business.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I attend expos and realtor events. As far as prospecting for new clients, I do that everywhere I go. I make sure that I have business cards and talk to people throughout the day. Referrals from past clients and repeat business is always great and the highest compliment

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Going back to college in my 40’s and getting a degree

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The book 10% Happier by Dan Harris. It addresses that inner voice we all have that discourages us and puts negative thoughts in our head and teaches you how to turn that off and to meditate and reprogram yourself for positivity.

What is your favorite restaurant? Rusty Pelican. I love the view of Key Biscayne and dining on the water.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Miami? 1000 Museum by Zaha Hadid looks like it will be the most amazing building in Miami

What kind of car do you drive? BMW 428i

Smartphone or paper? I have a smartphone, but I tend to make lists and take notes, so I would say paper.

What is your favorite city after Miami? Fort Lauderdale

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Become an expert on your area

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Docusign – it allows you to sign contracts and receive signed contracts from anywhere.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? Richard Branson because he is so inspiring. Also, Barbara Corcoran, Mark Cuban and Kevin O’Leary – I’m a huge Shark Tank fan.
