Colombians once again the top searchers of Miami properties

by Joe Ward

Colombians are once again the top internationals looking for Miami real estate, according to the Miami Association of Realtors.

As they were in March, Colombians made up most of the searches for Miami-area housing on the association’s website in April, according to MAR. The South American country has led the property search rankings in 12 of the last 17 months.

Brazil and Venezuela finished second and third, respectively. The United Kingdom re-entered the top 10 countries with its highest finish since it recorded the third-most Miami real estate searches in March 2016.

“From the United Kingdom to South America, Miami remains a major attraction to international home buyers,” said Coral Gables Realtor Christopher Zoller, the 2017 MIAMI chairman of the board. “Miami’s brand is known around the world and our home prices remain lower than other top global cities.

Though the findings are unsurprising, the list once again represents the fact that Miami is still a top destination for international investment. Miami was ranked the 27th best city for foreign investment, one of 19 American cities named to the list.

The top-10 countries visiting in April 2017:

  1. Colombia
  2. Brazil
  3. Venezuela
  4. Argentina
  5. Canada
  6. India
  7. United Kingdom
  8. Spain
  9. France
  10. Dominican Republic
