Douglas Elliman welcomes director of luxury sales – According to the release: Douglas Elliman welcomes Gary Pohrer as Director of Luxury Sales at the company’s Palm Beach office, located at 340 Royal Poinciana Way #318 in Palm Beach, Florida 33480. In this new position, Pohrer will focus his efforts on luxury condo and waterfront homes in the area, and help continue to grow the company’s Palm Beach presence. The former professional golfer has over 14 years’ experience in the real estate industry, with record sales inclusive of oceanfront residences from Manalapan to North Palm Beach, totaling $115 million in the last 18 months alone.

RE/MAX Advance Realty brings on former chef – According to the release: RE/MAX Advance Realty (RMA) has hired former travelling chef Amanda Davenport to its team of more than 165 agents. A graduate of the esteemed French Culinary Institute and a veteran of kitchens in France, Germany, New York City, and Washington, D.C., Davenport gained national attention in 2009 as a contestant on “Hell’s Kitchen”, the FOX network’s cooking competition series. (She was the ninth chef to turn in her jacket on the program’s sixth season.) No stranger to Florida, the Vancouver, Washington native has also overseen kitchens in Merritt Island and Cocoa Beach restaurants.

Slow condo sales prompts project to stall – Condo sales in the Magic City have been falling steadily over the past few months as inventories continued to sky rocket (now nearing a year’s supply). The slow down has prompted the Related Group to delay construction on a 298-unit project called Auberge Residences & Spa Miami, the Miami Herald reported.

Boca Raton board approves townhomes – Delray Beach-based NCC Development is planning a new townhome community for Boca Raton, and earlier this week, the developer received approval for the development from the Boca Raton Planning & Zoning Board, The Real Deal reported. The project will now seek approval from the City Council.
