This week, we talked with Maria Cuadra, a real estate agent with Related ISG International Realty. 

Miami Agent (MA): What are some particularly effective ways you’ve been able to strengthen your brand?

Maria Cuadra (MC): I love being creative, and I feel it’s an essential part to branding. Believe it or not, I have been able to expand my brand by using social media. Although it can be time consuming, taking the moment to show people what you do, how successful you have been on a particular day or even marketing listings really gives you a a huge advantage in this career. Followers know you, and you are not a “secret agent” rather a full-servicing, active one

MA: When working in new construction, how important are your relationships with developers, and how can agents work to strengthen those ties?

MC: When you work with a developer, making sure you have the right connection is almost a deal breaker. You have to be knowledgable from the beginning to sell new construction, but being able to have a relationship with a developer can help service your clientele in a much better way – and you can have some advantages that others don’t. Developers want our business, our clients, but in a city where most people have or want to be in real estate, to stand out definitely pays off. An agent has to focus on the type of new construction they want to sell and the agents they cater to. By doing this and attending any and all events they become relevant to the developers. In this career it’s about staying present and not forgotten.

MA: What is unique about Miami buyers?

MC: There is no typical Miami buyer. This “melting pot” we live in is ever changing with all types of buyers and sellers. I can tell you, however, the unique thing about Miami Realtors is that only the strong survive! This is why being up-to-date with market conditions, with hot spots in an area, new construction/developments and even mortgage changes enables you to service any buyer you may come across. Most buyers want it all, and by being knowledgable you can offer that.
