Duff Rubin, Regional Senior Vice President, Coldwell Banker Residential Broker, Miami

by James McClister

DuffRubin-FullNumber of years in real estate: 17 years.

Describe your look: A cleaned-up athletic look, with an influence from my roots growing up in Montreal.

What do you consider a “fashion don’t?” I grew up in the era of neon, popped-up collars, so now I keep my button downs buttoned and my golf shirts muted.

What is your favorite piece of clothing and why? My Cole Haan shoes with Nike-made soles, so I can stand or walk all day in comfort.

What do you consider a must-have accessory? Ray-Ban sunglasses. After all, this is Florida.

What is a fashion crime you have committed in the past? Always playing hockey and leaving locker rooms growing up, I got into the habit of never wearing socks, even when I had a suit on.

Where are your favorite places to shop? I am more of a small boutique kind of guy than big department stores. I frequent shops on Las Olas or Lincoln Road – anywhere I can get in and out in 10 minutes.

What, besides your wardrobe, completes your look? My Panerai watch and a solid tan. Keep in mind, I did grow up in Canada.

What is in your bag/briefcase? My Tumi knapsack always has my iPad, a phone charger, headphones and a pair of Brooks running shoes, in case a meeting cancels and I can get in a run.

My closet is full of… Lucky Brand t-shirts and long-sleeved shirts, and many baseball hats from the various golf courses I have played.

What is your style advice for other people in the industry? Always look neat, clean and professional to leave a lasting impression!
