Wendell Davis, a long-time Realtor, was honored as 2011's Realtor of the Year.

Florida Realtors has named Wendell Davis its 2011 Realtor of the Year, an award it has bestowed for more than 50 years.

Davis, who was the 2010 president of Florida Realtors, is a broker and regional vice president with Watson Realty Corp. in Jacksonville. In addition to his time with Florida Realtors, Davis also served as a charter member and former president of the Northeast Florida Association of Property Managers and as treasurer director for the National Association of Residential Property Managers.

Davis has also been involved in the greater community: he helped establish Florida Realtors’ first statewide open house in 2010, which featured more than 1,600 open houses across Florida; he is a current Clay County commissioner and served as commission chairman; and, he was a chairman of his local March of Dimes campaign and president of the local Chamber of Commerce.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to be among the elite, and it’s brought about by you – all the members of this great organization,” Davis said. “I’m proud to have had the privilege of serving you.”
