Every week, we ask a real estate professional for their Short List, a collection of tips and recommendations on an essential topic in real estate. This week, we talked with Eva Oliver, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker, shares her best strategies for keeping busy in a slow market.

4. It’s important that when you’re not busy, you’re working to build your client base, following up on old or current leads, a lot of phone calls, mailings and so forth. When agents are choosing their farm area, they should consider working in a place that is not only conveniently located, but also a place they believe in.

3. Stay focused on your marketing and cultivate your brand, because when you’re out in the field working, you often don’t have time to spend on things like phone calls, mailings and email blasts.

2. Expand your social media, which includes things like creating a business page, posting on Twitter and connecting with others on LinkedIn. When you’re building your farm area, make sure to connect with your new contacts via your social media outlets.

1. Attend local events and meetings that might help you meet and get to know the people in your farm area. If you happen to live in your farm area, don’t be shy about introducing yourself to your neighbors or walking the neighborhood.

One of Miami’s top agents, Eva has worked in real estate for 12 years, and is extremely well versed in not only local trends, but also high tech real estate tools in the market today.
