Miami was ranked on No. 82 out of 100 on Apartment List’s Renter Satisfaction Survey, released early this month. The survey, which polled over 18,000 renters, asked renters to rate their city based on a series of factors.
Miami received high marks in some categories such as the quality of schools and state and local taxes. However, other factors, the confidence in the local economy in particular, brought the city down to a D rank overall. Miami’s growing rents continue to threaten the city’s affordability.
“The US renter population is at its highest level in 20 years, “says Andrew Tam, Vice President of Data Science at Apartment List, “and renter concerns about Miami’s economy make it a much less appealing place for this important demographic.”
