In a move to further strengthen its international network, the Miami Association of Realtors this week announced new partnership agreements with organizations on four continents.

MIAMI penned agreements with six real estate associations in South America, North America, Europe and Asia:

With the new additions, MIAMI now boasts 136 international partnerships across nearly 50 countries, which will not only improve the international reach and resources for Realtors, but also increase exposure for Miami’s and South Florida’s real estate market while creating “increased business opportunities and a stronger economy,” according to the association.

“Our six new international agreements will help solidify South Florida’s position as the nation’s leading destination for international real estate buyers and investors,” said John Dohm, the 2015 MIAMI chairman. “These bilateral agreements create business and networking opportunities for MIAMI real estate professionals, increase the visibility of Miami real estate around the globe and add to our diversified, growing local economy.”

Miami is one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the country, which should amplify the impact of the association’s added partnership.

Nearly three-quarters of Miami-Dade County residents speak a language other than English in their home, according to the most recent numbers from the U.S. Census; over half of the county’s residents were born in a foreign country.

In 2015, a statewide profile of international homebuyers, authored by Florida Realtors in conjunction with the National Association of Realtors, pointed out Miami as Florida’s international hub, as the city accounts for 50 percent of the state’s international sales.

With the six additional partnerships, MIAMI said it will help provide a more “competitive advantage” for its more than 41,000 members.
