Families might be able to have fun in Miami, but it may not be the best city for them to settle down, according to a new report from WalletHub.

Cataloging Florida’s best and worst cities for families, the personal finance website evaluated communities on a series of factors, including: family life and fun; education, health and safety; affordability; and its “socioeconomic environment.”

While four Miami suburbs made WalletHub’s top 20 list, with two – Cooper City (8) and Palmetto Bay (10) – finding spots among the top 10, the city itself was ranked as one of the least family friendly areas in the state, in front of only Hallandale Beach.

Miami did receive top marks for “most attractions,” but was rated among the worst markets for the percentage of families living in poverty (112), least affordable housing (115) and the cost of living (115).
