107-Year-Old Historical Landmark Up For Sale

by Vannesa Bernal

charles-graham-house-miamiAuthentic in all of it’s “frame vernacular” architecture, a historical landmark of Miami’s pioneer past with ties that go all the way back to President Theodore Roosevelt, and over a 100 years old – the Charles Graham House has finally made its way to the market.

Built in 1907 and formally recognized by the Miami-Dade Historic Preservation board in 1985, the house has managed to stay in upright conditions even during Miami’s intense weather due it’s impeccable wood that has kept termites and rotting at bay, the replacement of the original roof with aluminum metal and the installation of central air conditioner throughout the home.

Located in Redland’s Silver Palm community, the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home is listed for $599,900 by RE/MAX Advance Realty’s Richard Abreu.

Despite it’s recent 11.1% drop in price range, the house won’t be on the market for long according to Abreu. “Probably 30 to 60 days,” Abreu said. ” We have two to three showings a week.”

Featuring more than 4,500 square feet of living area including a detached cottage/garage, the home still has it’s original oak floors, banister and stairs despite alternations and additions which include a second-story porch, widened windows, and a new chimney.

“The home’s unique history is certainly significant, and adds character to what a charming and well-maintained house on a nice-sized lot,” said Abreu. “The next owner will enjoy a newly-renovated kitchen, wrap-around porch and balcony updated fencing, and lovely landscaping.”
